The mission

Helium is escaping

Destination 1895

The year helium was discovered on Earth

An ordinary science report sends Jack Spector and Nate Stone back to a secret library dungeon and the magical leather-bound book hidden there.

With Nate’s younger sister, Lucy, they discover that the helium square in the book’s fold-out periodic table is fading. Four brass dials carry them to an old laboratory, where a shattered jar has released an invisible gas.

To find their way home, the three explorers must follow lab safety rules, build an electrical tracking device, and make the escaping helium reveal itself.
